Cleo Florence Walker, 92, of Kenyon, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Kenyon Sunset Home.

Cleo Florence Walker born February 21, 1920 to William and Cleo (Kiecker) Pick in Blue Earth County. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. John''s Lutheran Church in Danville Township. She attended and graduated from Mapleton High School and went on to Mankato Commercial College where she earned her degree in bookkeeping.

Florence married Max Walker on February 5, 1941 and lived in Mapleton for a short while, later moving to the Nerstrand-Kenyon area where they raised their children.
Florence worked for Milo Peterson and the Kenyon Country Club and is most well known for working at the Kenyon Sunset Home for several years. While working there she went to St. Paul Community College and obtained her Food Service Degree and managed the kitchen. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Kenyon. She volunteered at the Kenyon Thrift Store. She also enjoyed the Senior Exercise Class with senior citizens.

Florence is survived by her son, Larry (Carolyn) Walker; daughter, Ellen (Tim) Sackett, daughter-in-law Darlene (Bill) Walker all of Kenyon; grandchildren Lorrie (Kathy) Walker, Jeanne (Jeff) Mattson, Jenny (Lars) Olson, Becky (Mike) Tix, Melissa (Dean) Severson, Rick and Chad Walker and 16 great-grandchildren. Florence is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Nyleen (Don) Olson of Amboy, Jeannette Pick and Frances Pick both of Mapleton, and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Max, two sons William “Bill” and Kevin, brothers, Elder, Irvin and Roy Pick, sister, Evelyn (Mike) Miller all of the Mapleton area.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. and at First Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Interment will be in the Beauford “Morrow” Cemetery in Beauford Township. Memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church or Kenyon Sunset Home.
