Howard L. Moe, 89, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.

Howard was born April 24, 1923 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Obert and Bernice (Baldwin) Moe. He attended country school and also worked on area farms. He entered the US Army on December 14, 1944 and served in the Philippines as an ambulance driver during WWII. He received his honorable discharge on August 31, 1946 and returned to Owatonna. Howard was united in marriage to Rosella Kubat in 1948. He then worked at Hyline Hatchery for 17 years. He and his brother purchased the Farmers Feed and Supply and ran the business with the help from his son. It is now named Farmers Feed and Pet Supply in Owatonna. Howard retired after 30 years and then began working at Owatonna Ford as a part time driver.

He loved sports. He especially enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife Rosella Moe of Owatonna; two sons Bernie (and Diane) Moe of Owatonna; Keith Moe of Owatonna; two daughters Carol (and Jeff) Notto of Woodbury; Patricia Windsong in CA; 8 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister Margie Knutson of Owatonna.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Weisenburger officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Military honors will be provided by Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Our Savior''s Lutheran Church.
