James A. Robbins, 57, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House.

He was born July 24, 1952 in Winnebago, Minnesota the son of Floyd and Alice (Pierce) Robbins. James graduated from Amboy High School in 1970, and then served in the United States Navy from 1970-74 during the Vietnam War. He married Joan Hollerich October 14, 1972. Jim attended Mankato Vocational School for two years and then he and Joan moved to Owatonna where Jim was employed with OMC. Jim later worked for Crenlo in Rochester from 1986 until present. Jim was an active member at the VFW, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, friends, and his card club. Jim's grandkids meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife Joan Robbins of Owatonna, daughter, Wendy (and Ben) Rysavy of Owatonna, son, Shane (and Katie) Robbins of Minneapolis, grandchildren Hailey, Marcus, Andrew, and Tyler, sister Mary (Steve) Hutchins of Mesa, AZ, and brother Gary (Karen) Robbins of Wells. He is also survived by his aunt Viola Pierce, his mother-in-law Bernette Hollerich, sisters-in-law Mary (Roger) Schuerer, Barb (Mike) Lynch, Sue (Calvin) Baarts, Cathy (Larry) Caven, Teresa (Mark) Depuydt, Nancy Hollerich, Lori (Scott) Friedrichs, and brothers-in-law Don Hollerich, and Dave (Pam) Hollerich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Peter Hollerich, and granddaughter Hannah Rose Rysavy.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 PM and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday from 9-10 AM. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church- Litomysl with The Reverend John Sauer officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House.
