Larry Francis Athey, age 51, of West Concord, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Owatonna. He was born on August 24, 1965, in Ortonville, Minnesota the son of Francis and Myrna (Anderson) Athey. He graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1984. Larry worked in various jobs including boiler maker, carpentry, cement truck driver, maintenance for the city of Alexandria and Friendship Nursing Home in Shakopee. He then began his career in the heating and cooling industry and worked for a few companies before opening his own business in 2013, Concord Heating and Air. He was united in marriage to Annette Erickson on October 28, 2000 in Farmington, MN. The couple lived in a number of communities including, Montgomery, Dundas, Farmington Appleton and eventually settled in West Concord. Larry was a hard worker and whatever he did, he did it well. Even though he could be a bit stubborn, people always listened to what he had to say. When not working, he enjoyed watching movies, camping, hunting, fishing, cooking, baking and especially a good cup of coffee. Most important in his life was his family. He was especially proud of his granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Annette Athey of West Concord; children, Winston (Kathryn) of LaFarge, WI, Zachary of Claremont, Hannah, Hailee and Heather all of West Concord; mother, Myrna Terwedo of Montgomery and siblings, Donna (Gary) Arndt of Beardsley, Diane (Paul) Bengston of Washburn, ND, Edward (Tina) Athey of Montevideo, Charlie (Debbie) Athey of Montgomery and Bob (Katie) Terwedo of Le Sueur. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis and sister, Sheryl. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 3-7pm and at church one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00am. A private interment will be at a later date.
