Aaron Michael Lindekugel, 48, of Owatonna, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 16, 2018 at his residence.
He was born October 21, 1969 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Martha Lindekugel. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1988. He enlisted in the United States Marines and was honorably discharged. He married Cathy Korte on June 24, 1995 in Grand Lake, Colorado. The couple lived in Colorado before moving to Faribault in 1997 and Owatonna in 2000. Aaron worked food service while living in Colorado, at Mystic Lake Casino and most recently Crown, Cork and Seal in Faribault.
Aaron enjoyed fishing, Vikings football, loved cooking and getting together with his high school friends for a good, cold beer. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Lindekugel of Owatonna; mother, Martha Lindekugel of Owatonna; mother-in-law, Judith Korte of Owatonna; cousin, Robb (and Shantini) Gardner of Ohio; aunt, Sarah Gardner of Washington; sister-in-law, Jenny Korte of Waseca; brother-in-law, Rodney (and Carol) Korte of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Richard, Alexander, Jonathan, Kylie, Zachary and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marjorie Lindekugel; step-father, John Doran and father-in-law, Richard Korte.
A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A Celebration of Aaron's life will be held at a later date.
