Ada B. Jorgensen, 85, of Merton Township, MN, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at District One Hospital, Faribault. Ada was born February 18, 1925 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Danish immigrants, Peter and Marie (Nielsen) Christensen. She graduated from Owatonna High School with the class of 1943. She then attended Mankato State Teachers College in Mankato and taught in Steele County country school and also worked at Federated Insurance before her marriage. She was united in marriage to Harold F. Jorgensen, also a member of the class of 1943, on October 1, 1947 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna. They operated the Owatonna Cab Co. for a number of years in the early 1960's. Ada later worked as a cook at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Owatonna and at the Hy-Vee Deli in Owatonna. She and Harold also commercially raised vegetables as Jorgensen's Gardens in Merton Township. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, reading, her Dachshund, Petey, her cats, and visiting with friends and relatives. She is survived by daughter, Karen Jorgensen, Merton Township; her brother, Paul G. Christensen of Bloomfield, NM; nephews, Wayne (and Pat) Jorgensen of Owatonna; Jon (and Leanne) Madison of Waseca; Jerry (and Peg) Madison of Columbus, GA; Michael Kottong of Houston, TX; nieces, Carol Jensen of St. Anthony, MN; Susan (and Butch) Johnson of Livingston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents; three sisters, Esther Jensen, Dorothy Madison and Margaret Kottong and a brother, Herbert Christensen. Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Weisenburger and Intern Pastor Beau Nelson officiating.
