It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adrian Vela, who departed this life on July 29, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born in Mexico on September 2, 1961, to Juan and Gregoria (Cantu) Vela, Adrian shared his first breath with his identical twin brother, Alfredo — his lifelong best friend. Their bond was extraordinary and unbreakable, a connection that carried them through every season of life.

On August 7, 1981, Adrian was united in marriage to Blanca Ruiz. They were married for 19 years and welcomed four children. Despite their divorce, they remained close friends and confidants. He spent the later part of his career working as a laborer at Viracon. He would often travel to Texas to visit family, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren during his free time.

Adrian is survived by his four children: Adrian Jacob Vela, Dorothy Leann Vela (and partner, Jesus Valencia) of Austin, Edward Vela (and partner, Jazmin Flink) of Albert Lea, and Tony Vela of Owatonna; his eight grandchildren: Elian, Ayana, Chanel, Elena, Gabriella, Kiri, Araceli, Lucian; his twin brother, Alfredo Vela of Owatonna; and many other relatives in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; a nephew; and his grandson, Orion Vela.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
