The family of Al Miller
Alan (Al) Robert Miller died peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home in Owatonna, MN. He was 65 years old. Al was born on September 20, 1956, the second child to Robert and Corrine (Prestegard) Miller. He graduated from New Richland-Hartland High School in 1974.
Al was a kind, fun-loving, compassionate, and supportive father, friend, and brother. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, riding his bike, spending time with family and friends ,and helping others. He was often described as the Father of Owatonna AA. Al spent decades helping others while helping himself deal with life's challenges. He was a wonderful and loving father, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. Al loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include Al's children, Nicole Petersen (Nate Miller), Juston (April) Miller, Garett Miller, Kolton (Megan) Bellefy, grandchildren, Page, Aaron, Jade, Milan, Gia, Jason, Kennedy, Ezra, and Ivy and great grandchild Blair. He is also survived by his four sisters, Susie Stolfi (Grapevine, TX), Julie and husband Steve Flintrop (Lakeville, MN), Nancy and husband Butch Boucher (Crookston, MN) and Michelle and husband Jeff Reitan (Colleyville, TX). He was preceded in death by his parents.
A small intimate memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 22nd at Michaelson's Funeral Home in Owatonna. A memorial gathering to celebrate Al's life, will be held on Saturday, October 23rd from 1-4pm at Tory's restaurant, 208 N. Cedar in Owatonna.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the West Hills Alano (AA) Club, Owatonna, MN.
