Alan Kimball Powers, 62, of Blooming Prairie, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. He was born May 9, 1953 in Marshalltown, Iowa the son of Ronald and Jackie (Wells) Powers. Alan graduated from high school in Battle Creek, IA prior to moving to the Albert Lea/Austin area. He worked with his father in their family restaurant for several years. Alan attended technical school for accounting in Hutchinson and worked for a short time in the Twin Cities after which he returned to Austin. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping. He is survived by sisters, Jaron Miller, Debbie (and Paul) Black, Sue Powers; sister-in-law, Kathy Powers; friends, Mark Peterson, Nathan Underwood, Bill Bashelder and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry and Dennis. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
