Alan Lee Rundquist, 84, originally of West Concord, Minnesota died peacefully Friday, August 2, 2013 at his home in Kasson, Minnesota. Alan was born February 22, 1929 in West Concord the last of six children born to Alvin and Edna (Thomas) Rundquist. Alan graduated from West Concord High School and was married to Jeannine Hough on March 2, 1949. Jeannine died September 27, 2006. Alan spent most of his working career at IBM in Rochester, Minnesota and Raleigh, North Carolina. Alan lived in Raleigh from 1965 to 2006 when he returned to Minnesota. Alan was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed his life activities to the fullest. His favorite saying was 'Life is good if you let it be!' Alan is survived by his daughter Lou Ann Waters of Kasson; his son and daughter-in-law Eric (and Julie) Rundquist of New York; a grandson John Arrington of Hollywood, CA; two brothers Bob Rundquist; Royce (and Cherie) Rundquist; a sister Mary Baker; 28 favorite nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews; many dear friends and most special friend and companion Phyllis Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannine Rundquist (2006); his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald 'Did' and Shirley Rundquist; a sister and brother-in-law Betty and Clayton Osborn; a brother-in-law Stan Baker and a sister-in-law Eulah Rundquist. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, West Concord with the Reverend Dave Westlake officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
