Obituary

Alice Elaine Meyer , 86, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born April 12, 1930 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Roy and Hollis (Lundberg) Von Wald. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna where she was a life-long member. She attended school in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School, Class of 1948. Following her schooling she worked at Federated Insurance in Owatonna. On September 21, 1974, she married her high school classmate, Douglas Meyer. The couple lived in Denver, Colorado and Walnut Creek, California for a number of years. In January, 1993, they returned to Owatonna. Alice was devoted wife and mother. She was a charter member of the Owatonna Women's Club and life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Alice enjoyed the annual New Years Eve parties with long time friends. She especially enjoyed Owatonna Football games and faithfully attended them until her health began to fail. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Meyer of Owatonna; children, Jack (Polly) Gregor of Monticello, MN, and Bobbe (Ben) Enea of Concord, CA; step-children, Sharon (Kyle) Kunz of Sun Valley, ID, Jay (Rebecca) Meyer of Syracuse, UT and Jeannie (James) Bradshaw of Parker, CO; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; first husband, Jim Gregor and step-son, Paul Meyer. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Michaelson Funeral Home and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Buegler officiating. Private Interment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
