Alice Irene Stenbakken 87, of Kenyon, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born January 27, 1923 in Wheeling Township, Minnesota the daughter of Oscar and Clara (Severson) Bonde. She grew up on the family farm by Nerstrand. Alice graduated from Faribault High School, and then graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing as an RN in 1947. Alice married Herman Stenbakken June 19, 1948, and the couple later divorced. She then worked as a RN at the Northfield Hospital, and then at the Kenyon Sunset Home, where she later became the director of nursing. She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Carol Stenbakken, Diane Rasmussen, and Elaine Kraling all of Kenyon, six grandchildren Ann, Michael, and Jenny Kraling, Eddie, David, and Sarah Rasmussen. She is also survived by one sister Helen (Richard) Lodmill of Seattle, three brothers Earl (Charlotte) Bonde of Nerstrand, Robert (Carol) Bonde of Minneapolis, and Harold (Anne) Bonde of Nerstrand. Her parents preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home Kenyon on Wednesday February 3, 2010 from 4-7 PM and at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday from 1-2 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday February 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church Nerstrand with Pastor Judy Gustafson officiating.
