Alisha Marie Pierce, 17, of Owatonna died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Children''s Hospital of Minneapolis. Alisha was born May 11, 1993 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Scott and Shawn (Dulac) Pierce. She attended school at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault and was currently in the eleventh grade. Alisha looked forward to school every day; she took pleasure in participating in swimming and music class, as well as seeing the familiar faces of friends. At school and home, Alisha had many people outside of her family who brought great joy to her life, including: Ellen Stender, Mary Ellen Evans, Cheryl Mathews, Ashley Jensen, and several other care givers. Alisha enjoyed sitting outside under her favorite tree, going for walks, being talked and read to, listening to music, baking banana bread, playing with musical balloons, and being active by rolling around on her floor mat at home. Her positive attitude and precious smile would bring happiness to a room; she has touched the lives of many. She is survived by her parents Scott and Shawn, sisters Ashley and Shawnda, paternal grandmother Audrey (Rollo) Kihn of Bricelyn, maternal grandfather Richard (Teri) Dulac of Owatonna, paternal great grandmother Hazel Farm of Blue Earth, and maternal great grandmother Corrine Kleptka of Medford. Alisha is also survived by aunts and uncles Shane (Krista) Dulac, Michelle (Earl) Pleschourt, Jeff (Tanya) Pierce, and Jenny (Chris) Erickson; cousins Calvin, Christopher, Caelan, Madison, Brittany, Breea, Blake, Jackson, and Bennett. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Harold 'Gabby' Pierce, and maternal grandmother Cleo Dulac. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, November 29, 2010 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM and at Bethel Church on Tuesday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 10:30AM at Bethel Church with Pastor Jennings Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault or Minneapolis Children''s Hospital.
