Allen Eugene Rogers, 69, of Owatonna, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. He was born October 5, 1946 in Carrollton, Missouri the son of Jimmy and Josephine Rogers. He grew up in Carrollton and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1964. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Navy on May 27, 1964 and served overseas in Rota, Spain. He was honorably discharged on October 2, 1967. He completed his reserve obligation on May 26, 1970. On December 18, 1971, Allen married Karen Risberg. The couple has lived most of their married life in Owatonna. Allen was employed as an electrical engineer at Zytec in Plymouth, Johnson's in Waseca and retired from Itron in Waseca. He enjoyed fishing trips with his grandsons and hunting with his best friend, Dan Klatt. Allen was an inventor of many things and was most proud of his deer stand invention. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He is survived by his wife Karen Rogers of Owatonna; mother, Josephine Rogers of Carrollton; daughters, Tammy (Brad) Praznik of Lakeville, Melissa Broton of Owatonna, and Cynthia Rogers of Owatonna; grandchildren, Jesse Torres, Carter Broton, Lyric Broton, Darius Rogers, Danielle Praznik, Haven Broton, and Marcus Rogers. He was preceded in death by father, Jimmy Rogers; infant daughter, Rochelle Rogers; infant brother; and son-in-law, Nicholas Torres. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 27, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Lewis officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Michaelson Funeral Home and at the church on Friday one hour prior to service.
