Allen Leroy West, 75, of Owatonna, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born March 16, 1941 in Canby the son of Vernon and Audrey West. Allen graduated from Canby High School before serving four years in the US Air Force. Following his military service he attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He worked as an interior designer in downtown St. Paul where he met his wife. Allen married Lana Alexander Sept 14, 1968. The couple continued to make their home in the Twin Cities until moving to Owatonna in 1972. Allen worked for Hudrlik Furniture, Nelson Decorating Center and most recently at Flooring Frenzy & More. Allen and Lana enjoyed moving into homes that they could update and refurbish. Allen enjoyed the outdoors and classic cars. He was always very involved with his family and helping his kids whenever he could. He is survived by his wife Lana of Owatonna; son, Scott (and Kathryn) West of Inver Grove Heights; daughter, Tonia (and Joe) Miller of Owatonna; grandchildren, Paige, Brooke and Jade Miller of Owatonna; nephews, Darrin (and Brenda) West of Hudson, Greg (and Jodi) West of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul West. Private family services will be held at a later date with interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Condolences may be sent to P.O.
