Alvin J. Clausen, 74, of Blooming Prairie, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Homestead Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was born December 25, 1934 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Clifford and Martha (Neigebauer) Clausen. Alvin attended Owatonna High School and then married Marilyn Ditlevson July 2, 1952 in rural Blooming Prairie. Alvin worked for Cliff Grobner Construction, and drove milk truck for Union Creamery and later for LeSuer Creamery; he also worked for the Geneva Livestock Barn, and farmed. Marilyn died November 28, 1997. Alvin is survived by his children Patti (and Roger) Schroer, Colleen (and Kevin) Suckow, Debra (and Mike) Singelstad, and Alvin Jr (and Carmen Jensen) all of Owatonna, grandchildren Tammi Veach, Andy Schroer, Kelly Neubarth, Linda Skala, Glenn Valek Jr, Chelsea Singelstad, Curt Singelstad, Amber, Kyle, and Autumn Clausen. Nine great grandchildren and one sister LaVonne Wilson of Shakopee also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn, and son Dwain. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday April 13, 2009 from 4-7 PM and on Tuesday from 9:30- 10:30 AM. Funeral service will be held Tuesday April 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Danish Baptist Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. Memorials are preferred to the Danish Baptist Cemetery.
