Alvina Frances Riehm, 92, of Owatonna, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Traditions II. She was born March 27, 1923 in Owatonna the daughter of Laverne and Frances (Chesney) Heath. Alvina graduated from Owatonna High School. She married Harland Joachim and the couple moved to California where they lived for 8 years prior to their divorce. In 1961, Alvina moved back to Owatonna and worked at Woolworth's. She married Larry Riehm Nov. 26, 1968 residing together in Rochester. She continued working for Woolworth's in Rochester until her retirement after 34 years working for the company. While in Rochester, Alvina was very involved with the Eagles Cancer Telethon and other activities with the Eagles Club. Alvina enjoyed fishing, bowling, and crocheting. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (and Dick) Clemens of Owatonna; grandchildren, James A. Storm of Phoenix, AZ, Kim (and Greg) Bremseth of Preston, Nicole (and Edward) Krenzelok of Owatonna; great grandchildren, Marissa, Nolan, Skylar, Addyson; one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Riehm; former husband, Harland Joachim; brother, Charles Heath; sister-in-law, Phyllis Heath. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
