Alysmae Wildin, 92, of Owatonna, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Alysmae was born May 4, 1917 in LuVerne, IA and was the daughter of William and Dora (Gifford) Ramus. Alysmae graduated from LuVerne High School in May of 1935 and was united in marriage to Lewis I. Wildin of Algona, IA on June 15, 1935. They had their daughter, Barbara Ann on May 25, 1936. The couple farmed from 1937 until 1947 in LuVerne and then moved to Algona in 1947. There they made their home until 1952. They then moved to Owatonna where they farmed until Lewis passed away in 1993 after 58 years of marriage. Alysmae then built a new home on Manthey Park in Owatonna and lived there from 1994 until 2009. She was a member of the Associated Church and Daybreak Church, Christian Women, Bible Study, Opal, Joy Club, Peppy Club, her Circle, and the Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered in the Pink Pantry and prepared grab bags for the fair. She volunteered at the nursing home for many years helping there till she was 90 herself. Alysmae also worked for Nitschke Jewelry, Bert''s Hallmark and the movie theater both downtown and the drive-in. Lewis and Alysmae enjoyed traveling and also took their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren on many trips to both California and Hawaii. She was an excellent cook and loved making many wonderful meals and treats for her family. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, playing cribbage, both with her family and at Senior Place. She loved spending time with her family, reading and being with her many wonderful friends. She was an extremely kind, loving, caring and generous person who was loved by all that knew her. Her faith was the center of her life and there is great peace in knowing that she has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Barbara Ann and her husband, Dean Hahn of Burnsville; her loving sister, Leona Bartley (100 years of age) of Humboldt, IA; and is also loved and survived by her six grandchildren, James Dean (and Lori) Hahn, LuAnn Kay Hahn, DeAnn Barbara (and Doug) Anderson, John Wildin (and Lynda) Hahn, Alyson Ann Melissa Hahn, Heidi Ann Noel (and John) Hahn, and seven great grandchildren, Justin Hahn, Derek Hahn, Alyssa Anderson, Rachel Hahn, Jayden Hahn, D.J. Raway and Heather Warpula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, her parents, four brothers, Walter, Art, John and Tex; three sisters, Lillian Peterson, Florence Darby and Vera Hansen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, November 9 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 10 at 1:00 PM at The Associated Church with The Reverend James Oberg officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
