Angeline 'Angie' M. Northness, 96, of Owatonna, joined Jesus in heaven on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was born December 25, 1916 in Elma, Iowa the daughter of Vince and Anna (Shatek) Shatek. She attended country school and then helped farm near Alta Vista, IA. She was united in marriage to Russell Northness in September 1938. Angeline retired from Hormel in Austin after working there for 35 years. She moved to Owatonna shortly after her retirement to be near her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared her life stories with them that will be treasured through the next generations. One of her pastimes included knitting afghans for family and friends until her eyesight no longer allowed her to do so. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Senior Place, St. Joseph''s Church and Countryside Senior Living. Her love of the outdoors continued until her final days as she would sit outside and soak up the sunshine. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Angeline (and Gene) Fineran of Owatonna; three grandchildren, Marsha Ritter of Sarasota, Florida, Michele (and Dave) Bendorf of Owatonna, and Mike (and Julie) Fineran of Eagan; five great grandchildren, Ryan Ritter, Kayla Fineran, Matt Bendorf, Noah Fineran, and Tom Bendorf; sister-in-law, Irene Shatek of New Hampton, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell, sister, Helen Huegel, brother, Wes Shatek, and brother-in-law, Cletus Huegel. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with The Reverend Mike Cronin officiating. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes, Iowa on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary''s School, Homestead Hospice House or donor''s choice. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
