Ann Amundson, 62, of Kenyon, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 30, 2009 at her home. Ann Marie Margaret Monson was born October 5, 1946 in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Oscar and Hattie (Schultz) Monson. She was raised and attended school in Kenyon graduating from high school in 1964. Ann was united in marriage to Charles Dale Amundson on April 15, 1967 in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon. They made their home in the Kenyon area their entire lives. Ann worked at various jobs in Kenyon. She was employed at Kenyon Locker Plant, Owens Fairway, Motor Mart, Bergh Drug, Kenyon High School and the Kenyon Sunset Home. Charles died in 1999. She was a member of Gol Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Ann enjoyed spending time crocheting, working on crossword puzzles, reading and playing on the computer. Her pride and joy was her Newfoundland dog, Abby. She is survived by daughter, Kim (and Kevin) Helgeson of Kenyon; grandson, Adam (and Ashley) Helgeson of Kenyon; several nieces and nephews; special lifelong friends, Rickie Danielson of Faribault and Gail Hessedal of Kenyon. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, and two brothers, Allen and Ronald. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Gol Lutheran Church with The Reverend Elaine Siemsen officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon.
