Anna J. Johnson, 89, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born November 18, 1919 in Owatonna the daughter of Vincent and Frances (Jirousek) Vesely. Anna attended school in Owatonna; she then married Clifford Johnson on October 21, 1942 in Owatonna. Anna and Clifford Farmed East of Owatonna until retiring in 1974, they were well known for the quality hogs they raised. Anna was a woman who gave much of her time to various groups and organizations, including the Owatonna Arts Center, WFLA, Eagles Auxiliary, and the Sons of Norway. Anna and Clifford were also involved in a State Line Dance club in which they were elected the King and Queen and traveled throughout the world. Anna was a member of The Associated Church, where she chaired the Advent Workshop for several years. Anna enjoyed sewing, dancing, traveling, fishing, and art. Clifford died March 30, 2007. Three sisters, several nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors survive her. Her husband, two brothers, and three sisters preceded Anna in death. Visitation will be at The Associated Church on Saturday September 19, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will be held Saturday September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at The Associated Church with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
