Anna M. Travaglio, 89, of Owatonna, died peacefully Friday, July 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born May 12, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Andrew and Jenny (Gilio) Melillo. She grew up in Chicago where she met the love of her life, Salvatore Travaglio. She was united in marriage to Salvatore on September 18, 1949, at St. Columbkille Church in Chicago. The couple made their home in Chicago where they began their family. In 1959, they moved to Owatonna where they continued raising their family. In 1986, the couple began their retirement years. Anna enjoyed singing, dancing, traveling to Chicago and Arizona, cooking, shopping, and visiting with people. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had abounding energy. She cherished her family and friends. To meet and know her, you certainly loved her. She was often described as one-of-a-kind. She is survived by her husband Salvatore Travaglio of Owatonna; children, Michael Travaglio of Owatonna, Carol (Dave) White of Cleveland, OH, and Tom (Cindy) Travaglio of Sartell; Sister, Rose Eisa of Chicago and Grandchildren, Sal (Amber)Travaglio, Kelly (Justin) Jones, Danielle (Aaron) Wells, Dustin Travaglio, Steven (Sarah) White and Andy (Brittany) Travaglio
She was preceded in death by parents and sister, Antoinette Toni Madonia.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna with Father Kevin Connolly officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
