Ardelle Nustad, 86, of Northfield, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. She was born May 2, 1925 in Park Rapids, Minnesota the daughter or Francis and Gladys (Wilson) Potter. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1943. She then attended teacher training school and taught two years in Hubbard, Minnesota. She married George Nustad on November 22, 1947 in Park Rapids. They made their home in Park Rapids where she worked for the County Auditor. Her husband, George, worked for Northwestern Bell and they resided throughout Minnesota. Ardelle worked at Sears in Fridley for over twenty-five years. In 1993, they moved to Owatonna. Ardelle enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking. She also enjoyed spending summers at the cabin on Long Lake for forty years, and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She is survived by her son, Robert (and Sue) Nustad of Owatonna; her daughter, Nancy (and Mel) Olmscheid of Gambrills, MD; five grandchildren, Tim, Beth, and Monica Nustad, and Mark and Eric Olmscheid; six sisters, Joyce (and Daryl) Hirschel of Shoreview, Jean (and Wayne) McDonald of Slayton, Lois Kopp of New York Mills, Carol (and Bill) Valtinson of Park Rapids, Mary Taylor of Sacramento, CA, and Teresa (and Earl) Benson of Park Rapids; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, sister, Doris Potter, and brother, Al Potter. Visitation will be at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM . Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 12:30 PM at Fort Snelling Memorial Chape. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
