Arlene T. Loney, 93, of Owatonna, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House. Arlene was born March 29, 1918 in Havana Township, Minnesota the daughter of William and Synnevah (Tolefson) Thompson. She attended District 91 school through the 8th grade and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1936. She married Roy Loney on May 19, 1939 and lived in Chicago before returning to Minnesota. She worked many years for Heinz Insurance Agency. Arlene was a past president of the VFW 3723 Auxiliary and Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Sunday school teacher, on the Board of Education and Altar Guilds of Trinity Lutheran Church and was also a charter member of Eagles 1791 Auxiliary and a Steele County Historical Society member. She is survived by two daughters Sonya Hansen of Owatonna; Joyce Drake (and David Richards) of Owatonna; a son Allan (and Louise) Loney of Elysian; a grand daughter Brittany (and Toby) Erler of Owatonna; grandson Ryan Drake of Minneapolis; two great grandchildren, Kiya and Kelton Erler of Owatonna and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in November, 1978, a son-in-law, Russell Hansen, two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery in Havana Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Homestead Hospice House, Steele County Historical Society or donor''s choice.
