Arlene A. Souvie, age 84, of Owatonna, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home.
Arlene was born August 27, 1930 in Bismarck, North Dakota the daughter of Harvey and Gladys (Juus) Milsoe. She was baptized into faith on November 16, 1930 and confirmed her faith on April 30, 1944. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1948. Arlene was united in marriage to Carlton E. Souvie on November 17, 1951 in Mason City, Iowa and the couple made their home in Owatonna. Arlene worked for OTC in her early years and later worked as a supervisor for Federated Insurance retiring after 25+ years. Carlton died in 2005.
Arlene enjoyed mowing her lawn with her John Deere riding lawn mower. She also did knitting for the VFW making wool hats to go under the veteran's helmets and she also made mittens and stocking hats for young babies. She liked to fish for walleyes and caught a 10+ pound walleye on Lake Mazaska in Rice County.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (and Barb) Souvie of Owatonna; a granddaughter, Eve Martinez of Blooming Prairie; three great grandchildren, Alex, Elissa and Alivia of Blooming Prairie and a sister, Bernadine Pichner of Owatonna.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carlton Souvie; her parents; a son, Lee Souvie (2011); and a brother-in-law, Donald Pichner.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM., followed by a graveside service in Forest Hill Cemetery, Owatonna with The Reverend Katherine Gibson Christensen officiating.
