Arlyn Alvin Scheiber, 90, of West Concord, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center with his family by his side.
He was born January 10, 1935, in Verdi, Minnesota the son of Alvin and Alma (Wiese) Scheiber. Arlyn was united in marriage to Barbara Kienietz on March 31, 1955, in Worthington. Arlyn and Barbara were blessed with 5 children together. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Beyond driving trucks, he was always busy fixing things around the house, gardening, and making sure the lawn was perfect. He also enjoyed watching Nascar racing, fishing, pheasant hunting, boxing, and watching his family play softball. Throughout his time Golden Glove boxing, he was the featherweight champion of 1955. He always cared for his children and made memories by taking them on Sunday afternoon drives, he continued caring for his grandchildren and made each of them wooden chairs that are still being used today.
Arlyn is survived by his wife Barbara; children, Monica Svien of Kenyon, Mark (and Tracy) Scheiber of Plainview, Michele (and Kevin) Lawson of Dodge Center, Melissa (Phil) Leaman of Longville, Monty (and Emily) Scheiber of Zumbrota, Lori (Philip) Collins of Nashua, MT; grandchildren, Nathan, Jackie, Kellie, Kristin, Brad, Jesse, Matt, Jeff, Derek, Lindsay and Andrew; 22 great-grandchildren; step-grandsons, Erik and Boedy, Garrett, Dillon, Walker; sisters, Lynette King and Annette Honerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Alma; siblings, Merlyn, Duane, Jeanette, Darlette, Garnette, Charlette, Harriette, Paulette; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Leaman; son-in-law, John Svien.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, in Concord.
