Arthur Gene Hinze, age 80, of Owatonna, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023. He spent his final days in Hospice Care at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Gene was born July 26, 1942 to Margaret and Roy Hinze in Iowa City, Iowa; his infant twin sister died at birth. He spent his childhood years at Westside, Iowa where he attended school. As a young adult, Gene married Carol, they later divorced. He was preceded in death by his infant twin sister, parents, older brother and an infant daughter.

Gene retired from the Unites States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant and from FedEx as a Sr. Manager.

He enjoyed traveling, sports, boating, riding a motorcycle and time spent with friends.

A private military burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
