Audrey Jean Klima, 87, of Owatonna, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Homestead Hospice House. Audrey Jean Prestegard was born March 3, 1927 in Aurora Township, Minnesota the daughter of Sam and Anna (Silrum) Prestegard. She attended and graduated from Owatonna High School. She began working at Federated following school. Audrey was united in marriage to Kenneth Klima on September 9, 1947 at Aurora Lutheran Church. The couple had two daughters, Mary and Sandra. Audrey was a stay at home mom that helped raise the girls and as they grew older, she volunteered and was active in many organizations and church groups. Kenneth died in 1983. She was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school, and a part of the Leah Alter Guild and prayer chain. Audrey gave of her time volunteering with the Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary at the Pink Pantry receiving her 500 hour pin. She was also a member of the Elks and the Owatonna Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and also enjoyed going to dances. She was an election judge for 13 years, drove for Meals on Wheels and worked on the Christmas Doll Project. Audrey drove many people to doctor visits and grocery shopping. She had a kind heart and always took care of others first. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Perko of Carlsbad; CA; Mary (and Jeff) Ward of Kalispell, MT; four grandchildren D.J. (and Michelle) Morgan of Owatonna; Larry (and Kris) Morgan of Owatonna; Lora Witte of Savage; Chuck Morgan of Rochester; four great grandchildren, Amandalynn, David, Dakota, and Mathew and many cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Klima (1983); her parents; three brothers, Selvin Prestegard; Erling Prestegard; Ole Prestegard; and two sisters, Evelyn Edwardson and Ruth Rossow. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Cemetery in Havana Township. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Owatonna Home Care and Hospice.
