Barbara Jean Bloyer, age 81, of Las Vegas and originally of Owatonna, MN, passed away Sept. 15, 2015, in Las Vegas. She lived in Las Vegas for the past 38 years and was the daughter of the late Grace and William Stoltman of Owatonna. Barbara attended Saint Mary Catholic School and moved on to be a proud member of the Owatonna High School class of 1952. After high school she worked for Federated and then Jostens. Barbara graduated from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN in 1956. She was employed by the Clark County recorder's Office in Las Vegas as a deputy recorder for 23 years and was retired for the past three years.
Barbara always had a busy social calendar. She enjoyed attending many family activities both in Phoenix and Las Vegas, watching a variety of sporting events, gardening, baking, crocheting, reading and clipping articles from periodicals for her family members and friends to enjoy. Barbara spent many pleasant hours with friends on local road trips and luncheon, as well as annual high school reunions in her hometown of Owatonna. She also was active in the local Catholic community in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her four children, Brad Bloyer, Jean Plunkett, Beth Bloyer-Freeman and Nels Bloyer; as well as six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of family and friends along with a graveside service on Wednesday, October 21, beginning at 3:30 pm in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home.
