Barbara A. Borwege 68, of Owatonna, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Owatonna Hospital after a fighting a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 12, 1940 in Owatonna, the daughter of Edward and Jennie (Larson) Proulx. Barbara graduated from OHS in 1958 and started working at Jostens where she later retired in 2004 after forty-six years. She married Brian Borwege July 14, 1962. Barbara was a member of Associated Church, Red Hat Society, and volunteered her time at many different places throughout Owatonna. Barbara enjoyed camping, dancing, traveling, bowling gathering with family and friends, and most of all her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Barry (and Staci) Borwege of Owatonna; four grandchildren Brooklyn, Kylie, Connor, and Easton, and daughter in law Robin Borwege of Walker, MN. She is also survived by sister Deloris (Don) Glynn of Blooming Prairie; brother, Donald Proulx of Owatonna, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Brian, two sons Brad and Ben, sister Hazel Harris, and three brothers Paul, Bill, and LeRoy Proulx. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday January 16 from 4-8PM and at The Associated Church on Saturday from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 17, at 11:00 AM at The Associated Church with Reverend Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society, Owatonna Hospice, or the Donors Choice.
