Benita H Kruckeberg , 97, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born November 3, 1910 the daughter of John and Anna (Ahlers) Wilker. She was baptized November 27, 1910 and confirmed April 13, 1924. Benita attended country school in Meriden Township. She worked at a local bakery, the Owatonna Hospital and several cafes in Owatonna prior to her marriage. She married Alfred W. Kruckeberg March 7, 1945 in Owatonna. The couple farmed for many years in Steele County. She was a member of St John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, vacation Bible School and was active with the Junior Lutherans and the Alter Guild. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, volunteering at Cedarview, visiting, gardening, traveling and going out to eat. Benita is survived by her son Dean Kruckeberg of Cedar Falls, Iowa. 1 granddaughter Stephanie Kruckeberg of Cedar Falls, Iowa, her grandson Jeremy (and Rachel) Kruckeberg of San Diego, CA., 1 great grandson Max Kruckeberg of San Diego. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 1982, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 3/1/2008 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St John Cemtery in Owatonna.
