Berdelle O. Wallaker, 100, of Wanamingo, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born November 28, 1910 in Wanamingo, Minnesota the daughter of Martin and Johanna (Vangestad) Quittem. Berdelle attended school in Wanamingo, and then married Hardy Wallaker on April 6, 1935 at the Holden Lutheran Parsonage. Together they farmed on the Wallaker family homestead near Wanamingo until 1962, when they moved to Santa Clara, CA, where they lived for ten years. Later the couple moved back to Wanamingo and lived in the house that Berdelle was raised in. Hardy later died in August of 2000. Berdelle was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a part of the first confirmation class from Trinity. She was also a member at Holden Lutheran Church and was very involed at both Holden and Trinity. As her children were growing up she was very involved with their lives and the activities they were in. She will be fondly remembered for her apple pies, and homemade breads and donuts. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Ingram) Neseth of Kenyon, Delores (Paul) Blaeser of Naples, FL, and Harris (June) Wallaker of Wanamingo, eleven grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Louise Potera of Faribault, and her extended family Dawn, Dan, and Jeff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, three brothers, and one sister. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wanamingo on Saturday May 7, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wanamingo with Reverend Chris Culuris officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Wanamingo. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church. Michaelson Funeral Home of Kenyon is handling arrangements.
