Obituary

Bernard Holt Mallery, 75, of Kenyon, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home. He was born April 24, 1935 in Lakeville the son of Garrick and Lillian (Holt) Mallery. He graduated from Farmington High School. After graduating from high school, Bernie operated a dairy farm and worked for Feely's Elevator in Farmington. Bernie married Adaline Doeling February 15, 1958 in Farmington. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1961-1963 and separated with an honorable discharge. He was a district sales manager for Moorman's Feeds for several years before starting a plumbing and heating business in Kenyon. Bernie enjoyed fishing, sports, card games and traveling. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with friends, family and attending all of his grandchildren's activities. He was a member of Holden Lutheran Church and Treasurer for the Holden Park Board. Bernie is survived by his wife, Adaline Mallery of Kenyon; daughters, Susan (and David) Shoberg of Plattsmouth, NE, Linda (and Bob) Morris of Byron; sons, Kevin (and Chris) Mallery of Kenyon, Robert (and Lisa) Mallery of Faribault; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Duane Mallery of Hastings; sisters, Gloria Galle, Beverly Preece both of Farmington and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday from 4pm to 8pm and at Holden Lutheran Church on Saturday from 12pm to 1pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 1pm at Holden Lutheran Church with The Reverend Rell Spickerman officiating. Interment will be in the Holden Lutheran Cemetery.
