Obituary

Shreveport, LA-Bernice Rose Grant Rognmoe, age 96, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2014. Bun was born October 8, 1918 to George and Clara Sargent Grant. Bernice spent her younger years on a farm in Canada which her parents homesteaded until they moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1921. Bernice's life was dedicated to serving the Lord and others at an early age. As a teenager she marched with the Salvation Army with her family playing the horn. In 1940 she married Charles Rognmoe and moved to Kenyon, Minnesota, where she was active in singing solos, duets and in trios, taught Sunday School, and studied the Bible, particularly enjoying many tapes and books by John MacArthur. Bernice was an extremely resourceful and creative woman making beauty out of the simplest things, refinished and reupholstered furniture, made gorgeous macram© pieces, wrote heartwarming letters and loved the outdoors, playing golf, taking the grandchildren hiking, sledding, and building forts. But her most radiant quality was her compassionate heart which endeared her to not only her family but anyone who met her. She loved with all her heart in her letters, kind words and best of all her hugs. Welcoming Bernice to heaven will be her parents; and granddaughter, Marya Rognmoe; siblings, Hazel, Ralph, Mary, Muriel and Howard. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Harland Charles Rognmoe of Denver, CO; daughter, Mary Bernice Bremer and husband, Richard of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Scott Rognmoe of Denver, CO, Eric Rognmoe and wife, Beth Ayn Rognmoe of Denver, CO, Charles Rognmoe of Denver, CO, Bernice Nica Rognmoe of San Fransisco, CA, Christine and husband, Josh Lipscomb of Dallas, TX, Rose Rudolph of Victoria, TX; great-grandchildren, Daniel Rognmoe, Kelsey and husband, Chris Martinez, Josiah Rognmoe , Hannah Joy Rognmoe, Joshua Rognmoe, Waverly Lipscomb, and many nieces and nephews. To honor Bernice's compassion in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army of your choice. She was the most amazing woman of God. Her unconditional love was an anchor to our family while always directing us into the arms of God. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15th, 2014. A family burial will be held. Officiating will be Pastor Luther Mathsen and Pastor Eric Rognmoe. The family will receive friends after the service. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon.
