Betty Jane Boerner, 75, of Owatonna, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 surrounded by her family at Homestead Hospice House. She was born January 16, 1933 in Owatonna Township the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Kubista) Pavek. Betty graduated from Owatonna High School. She married Arnold Boerner March 6, 1951 in Owatonna. The couple was later divorced. Betty worked at the Owatonna Canning Co. for many years before going to work for Owatonna Tool Company. She retired from OTC in 1998. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Hope where she had served for many years as the treasurer of WELCA. She was also a member of the Owatonna Eagle's Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, bingo, jigsaw puzzles and camping. She enjoyed going to casino''s or 'work.' Betty's family was very important to her and she shared many of her hobbies with them. Betty is survived by her daughters, Gail (and Loran) Christianson of Morristown, Roxanne (and Tom) Biesterfeld of Owatonna, Robin (and Jeff) Christensen of New Richland; Doug (and Jackie) Boerner of Owatonna, Mike (and Cindy) Boerner of Owatonna, Joel (and Lisa) Boerner of Owatonna; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Joanne Pritchett of Alpena, MI; brothers, Richard (and Wanda Lequieu) Pavek of San Jose, CA, Donald (and Mary) Pavek of Hendricks; brother-in-law, Mel Lund of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Betty Pavek of Faribault and nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Lynn; granddaughter, Mariah; great grandson, Joshua; sister, Virginia Lund; brother, Edward Pavek; brother-in-law, Gerald Pritchett. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-6pm and at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church on Monday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held August 4, 2008 at 11:00am at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church with The Reverend Cary Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Steele Center Cemetery in Somerset Township.
