Obituary

Betty Lou Brown, 70, of Owatonna, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Homestead Hospice House after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born June 9, 1938 in Dodge Center the daughter of Orval and Hilda (Muller) Christiansen. Betty graduated from Owatonna High School in 1956. She married Ralph Brown October 6, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The couple has lived in Owatonna since their marriage. Betty worked for both Federated and JC Press. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in many ways including being part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, walking, biking and playing cards. She was an avid sports fan following the Minnesota professional sports teams as well as attending numerous high school sporting events. She cherished her winter trips with her husband to Arizona, Florida and Texas. Betty's entire family was an important part of her life and she had an amazing love for her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband, Ralph Brown of Owatonna; sons, David (and Julie) Brown of Owatonna, Darin (and Amy) Brown of Owatonna; daughter, Diane (and Delles) Solie of Owatonna; grandsons, Jarrett Galvin, Jordan Galvin, Brett Solie, Justin Brown; granddaughters, Danika Brown, Ali Brown, Kenna Brown; sisters, Ardis Marquardt of Dodge Center, Lois Kiel of Owatonna and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter and one sister. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9-10am. Funeral services will be held August 7, 2008 at 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
