Betty L. Kinney, 89, of Owatonna, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at her home. She was born January 6, 1928 in LeSueur County, Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Wealthy (Sapp) Baer. She grew up on the family farm in Cleveland, Minnesota. She graduated Salutatorian of Cleveland High School class of 1946. Betty married Gordon Kinney on December 29, 1949 in Le Center, Minnesota. In 1955, they made their home in Owatonna where Betty stayed home to raise their four children. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Extension, Elks, and Heart Association. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (William) Kuznacic of Elkhorn, WI, Craig (Mary) Kinney of Olathe, KS, Gary (Maria) Kinney of Glendale, AZ, and Lori Harrigan of Franklin, MA; ten grandchildren, Eric (Katherine) Kuznacic of Janesville, WI, Matthew (Amanda) Kuznacic of Glenview, IL, Brenten (Samantha) Kuznacic of Madison, WI, Elizabeth (Patrick) Johnson of Prairie Village, KS, Tyran, Shelby, and Isaiah Kinney of Glendale, AZ, Kaitlin, Lindsay, and Michael Harringan; two great granddaughters, Gracie Kuznacic and Caroline Johnson; brother, Ronald (Celeste) Baer of Enfield, CT; sister, Helen Buerkle or Fairfax, MN; special neighbors, Lance, Stacy, Joe, and Claire Bock of Owatonna, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Kinney; sister and brother-in-law, Margeurite and George Hanley; sister, Mary Joan Casey; brother-in-law, Raymond Beurkle. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna with Reverend Amanda Weinkauf officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
