Betty Rose Reyant, 70, of West Concord, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital. Betty Rose Schmidt was born May 6, 1938 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Carl and Rose (Jirele) Schmidt. Betty was raised and attended country school, District 43, near Owatonna. She was united in marriage to Richard Reyant on September 2, 1961 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They farmed for many years in Ellington Township, near West Concord. Betty loved living on the farm. She enjoyed taking care of the animals and always had a soft side with them, especially her cat, Lacey. She was the sweetest person and never complained. She enjoyed baking pies especially peach pies for Christmas and her specialty for meals was roast beef. She also enjoyed going on long walks in the country and being outdoors. Betty was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in West Concord. Betty had a special love for her two grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband Richard Reyant of West Concord, a daughter, Renee Reyant of Byron, a son, Richard (and Bethany) Reyant of West Concord, two grandchildren, Isaac and Beyanna Reyant of West Concord, her mother, Rose Hohrman, three brothers, Jim (and Jan) Schmidt, Dewey Schmidt, Myron (and Sandy) Schmidt, a step-brother, Hans (and Karen) Hohrman Jr., all of Owatonna and many nephew and nieces. Betty was preceded in death by her father Carl Schmidt; her step-father Hans Hohrman Sr., and a sister at infancy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held February 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath and Father Jim Berning celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in West Concord. Memorials are preferred to the donor''s choice.
