Bobby Bob George Fitzgerald, 78, of West Concord, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Mary's Campus. He was born April 29, 1936 in West Concord, Minnesota the son of George and Ethel (Melby) Fitzgerald. Bobby began farming at an early age with his father, and continued to do so for his entire life, and he was very proud to be a farmer. Bobby served in the United States Army from 1958-1960, and was then united in marriage to Dorothy Pettis on March 25, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in West Concord. The couple continued farming after marriage. Bobby was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served on the Ad Council. He was employed at B.N. Stone Feed Mill in West Concord, and also sold Funk's Seed Corn. He served on the West Concord Co-op board, West Concord Creamery Association Board and was currently serving on the board for the Historical Society of West Concord. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Fitzgerald, children Katherine Kay (Harlan) Hanson, Barbara (Grant) Erler, and David (Ann) Fitzgerald all of West Concord, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Maureen in 1962, two sisters Donna Hanenberger and Verna Eggert, three brothers John, Gilford, and Eugene, and two infant sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Monday June 9, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at United Methodist Church, West Concord on Tuesday June 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church, West Concord with The Reverend Dave Westlake officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to West Concord United Methodist Church, West Concord Fire Department, and the American Lung Association.
