Bruce Buss, 62, of Blue Ridge, Georgia died February 27th 2012 at his home, surrounded by friends and family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 17, 1949 in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Allen and Renee Buss of Claremont. He grew up in Claremont and graduated from Southern School of Agriculture High School in 1967. He continued his education at University of Minnesota, Crookston. Bruce worked in the Security State Bank of Claremont for a number of years and later owned several small businesses, the last of which was Walhala Ridge Furnishings in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Bruce served in the military and was a member of the Claremont Commercial Club, Claremont Volunteer Fire Department, Claremont Improvement Corp. and was a former Owatonna Shriner. Bruce was an avid sailor and enjoyed working with wood and spending time with family and friends. Bruce is survived by his wife, Marla, two daughters, Amy Potthast (married to Mike Potthast) and Sarah Buss, two grandchildren, Olivia and Isabelle Potthast, his parents, Allen and Betty Buss, four sisters and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his son Benjamin, his mother Renee and a brother Jeff Thompson. Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church of Claremont on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Claremont with the Reverend Clint Patterson officiating.
