Bruce Ordean Madson, Age 70, Passed away on March 23, 2025, at his home after a 6 year battle with cancer.
Bruce was born May 11, 1954 to Obed and Daisy (Bjork) Madson. grew up in rural Blooming Prairie on a farm along with his seven siblings. He enjoyed wrestling and helped dig graves for extra income while he went to school. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1972. Bruce worked for Schneider Trucking, OMC – Mustang Manufacturing as a welder and night shift supervisor until the company moved. Bruce then worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in both Albert Lea and Owatonna. He loved driving truck especially the snowplow. In summer he hauled peas and sweet corn in his off time.
Bruce married Marsha (Folie) Madson on August 23, 1980, in Blooming Prairie and was a devoted husband who would do anything for his wife. Bruce was the proud father of Lukas Madson, and Lance Madson.
In his free time Bruce liked to go fishing, watch westerns and sci-fi shows. He often liked to go to the movies with his kids or his brother. Some of his favorite memories were going on family vacations to various cities and locations throughout the U.S. and Caribbean. He also loved the family dog, Jack and would take him on drives and walks around town and talk to anybody that wanted to visit.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Marsha; their sons, Lukas and Lance Madson. He is also survived by his sister Judith (Randy) Gasner, sister Barbara (Terry) Schneider, brother Orlyn Madson, brother, Merlyn Madson, sister-in-law Marge Madson, and mother-in-law Katherine Folie, brother-in-law Steven Folie, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Obed and Daisy, brothers David, Russel, Jerald, father-in-law Paul Folie, and Brother-in-law Duaine Folie.
A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, Connie, and Erica (his primary hospice care team) and pastor Kyle Smith (Ellendale First Lutheran) for their kindness, visits, and support.
The entire family is grateful for everyone's concern, condolences, kindness, and sympathy during this difficult time. It means the world to us.
