Obituary

Bryce Aubrey Wahl, age 92, of Owatonna, died June 21, 2020, at Medford Senior Living. He was born on April 7, 1928, in Clark, South Dakota the son of Vernon and Alline (Raymer) Wahl. He graduated from Clark High School in Clark, South Dakota in 1946. After high school, he served in the United States Army from September 1946 until his honorable discharge in March 1948. Following his military service he attended South Dakota State University in Brookings and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics. On June 10, 1951, he married Jean Lenz in Northrup. The couple lived in St. Cloud and Morris before moving to Owatonna. He was part owner of Stimler Wahl Implement in Morris. He then began his 25-year career in insurance followed by real estate. After Jean's death in September, 2003, Bryce became very involved with volunteer work. He volunteered with the Village of Yesteryear, maned the popcorn stand at Thursday Night in the Park, volunteered at Living At Home Network and Healthy Seniors and then started the local chapter of Visiting Angels in 2010. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, noon Rotary Club and a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, golfing, International tractors and camping with his family. He is survived by his children, Shelley Hauschild of Owatonna, Craig (Brenda) Wahl of Owatonna and Curtis Wahl of Glen Echo, MD; grandchildren, Matt Hauschild, Tyler (Nicci) Wahl, Kelsey (Josh) Pilcher, Aubrey Wahl, Diego Wahl, Mikayla Wahl and Isabella Wahl; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Kailynn, Kenzie, Kaison, Kara and Lettie; siblings, Lowell (Norma) Wahl of Clark, SD and Marilyn (Robert) Kuhlman of Riverside, CA; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents, Vernon and Alline and great-granddaughter, Jovie Pilcher. Memorials preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
