Carol Wanous Gillen, 57, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Oct. 13, 2009, at Fort Walton Hospital after a prolonged illness. Carol was born February 8, 1951 at the Owatonna Hospital, to Albert and Gladys Wanous. She and her husband had two sons, Randy and Chad, and two grandchildren. Her career included being a pastry shop owner in Elk River as well as a DNR technician. She was a devoted mother to Randy and Chad and her two grandchildren. She is survived by sons Chad and Randy Flann, two grandchildren Tyler and Ryan, as well as brothers, Gary and Brian Wanous, sisters, Joann Stoos and Eileen (Schultz) Sones. She was preceded in death by her parents, niece, and a nephew. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
