Livestream of the Private Family Service available at https://wearelivetoday.com/carol-jensen Carol Margaret Jensen, 77, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born February 5, 1943 in Faribault the daughter of Freeman and Irene (Borchardt) Graves. Carol graduated from Faribault High School. She attended one year of business school before starting her nurses training. On Nov. 26, 1961 she married Laverne Jensen in Faribault. The couple made their home in the Owatonna area she helped her husband farm, worked as secretary for Grandview Memorial Gardens, in the paint shop at OTC, and at Steele County Public Health prior to her 30-year career as a home health aide. Carol was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was a strong and determined woman who put others before herself. She loved helping others and was always willing to share her time to listen and visit. Carol enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, hardanger, antiques and football. She loved her cats and dogs. Carol put family above all else. She is survived by her husband, Laverne Jensen of Owatonna; daughter, Anna (and Randy) Matter of Austin; sons, Michael Jensen of Owatonna, Adam Jensen of Owatonna; grandsons, Brandon (and Bre) Jensen of Owatonna, Logan Jensen of Owatonna; sisters, Dorothy Wegner of Watertown, WI, Marlys Wegner of Faribault and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Anderson; niece, Jeanne Ponce. Public visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm. Private family funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with The Reverend Greg Shlicker officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
