Carol L. Liming, 53, of Owatonna, died suddenly Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Owatonna Hospital. She was born August 30, 1966 in Elgin, IL the daughter of John and Celia (Whitt) Olbrich. Carol graduated from Claremont High School in 1984. She married Anthony Liming and they had two children. They were later divorced. At the age of 17 she entered into the United States National Guard where she served for over 30 years. During that time she was called into active duty and served one year in Iraq. She was honorably discharged in 2013. Carol received her Associate's Degree from Riverland College. She was known as a wonderful, generous and supportive mother. She was a great seamstress and could sew anything including curtains, dresses and quilts. Carol was very athletic and coached others through her bootcamps over the years. She loved time spent with her family especially her children, granddaughter and extended family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her boisterous laugh and infectious smile. She is survived by her children, John (Courtney) Liming of Owatonna and Sami (fiancé Josh Kubat) Liming of Northfield; granddaughter, Oaklyn; sisters, Carrie (Steve) Laue of Dodge Center and Allison (Craig) Ross of Claremont; brother, Dave (Lori) Olbrich of Moorpark, CA; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; her dog, Buster. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Celia Olbrich. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be held March 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Walters officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Claremont Township with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Disabled American Veterans.
