Carol Rae (Martin) Noah, 78, died Friday, October 9, 2015, at Milestone Memory Care Center in Faribault, MN, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Carol was born to John C. Jack and Lucile (Cooley) Martin on December 12, 1936, in Loop City, NE. She graduated from Grand Island High School in 1955 and Doane College in Crete, NE in 1959. After college she was a teacher in Kearney, NE, where she met her future husband, Robert Bob Noah. The two married in December of 1960 and have been happily married for nearly 55 years. Carol and Bob moved their family to Kenyon, MN, in 1971 to take ownership of the Kenyon Leader, and have lived there since that time, raising their three children. Carol devoted nearly 20 years to the Kenyon Public Schools as a teacher and paraprofessional. Carol's passion in life was spending time with her husband, children and families. She enjoyed playing, baking, walking and reading with her grandchildren. She loved attending their school, music and sport events. She also enjoyed years of traveling with her siblings and mother, as well as attending over 40 Martin family reunions. Carol loved golfing with her husband, family and friends, playing bridge in women's and couples groups, visiting tulip gardens with her Tulip Ladies friends, having coffee with friends, and attending Extension group meetings. She was an active member of the Kenyon United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Carol is survived by her husband, Bob, sons, David and Lisa of Eagan, Doug and Jena of Kenyon and daughter, Nancy and Jay Wobig of Pine Island, seven grandchildren, Josh and Becky Noah, Nick and Sara Wobig, Ryan, Kelsey and Shelby Noah. She is also survived by brothers, Lanny and Sharon Martin of Denver, CO, Tom and Kathy Martin of Omaha, NE, sisters, Dianne and Dave Barker of Springfield, MO, and Janet and Dale Benson of Chapman, NE, sisters in law, Vera Martin of Bella Vista, AR and Jean Noah of Canoga Park, CA., brothers in law, Don and Rachel Noah of Palatine, CA, Dennis and Karin of Tucson, AZ, Dean and Pam of Kenyon, along with many nieces and nephews. Carol is also survived by the wonderful caregivers at Milestone, Faribault Hospice and Hospice Advantage.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law, one brother, one sister, and a sister-in- law. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Kenyon and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Kenyon. Her grandchildren will serve as the Honorary Urn Bearers.
Memorials are preferred to the Kenyon Country Club and the Alzheimer's Association.
