Carolyn Jean Chladek, 74, of Claremont, Minnesota, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, Minnesota. Carolyn was born August 16, 1940 in Claremont, Minnesota the daughter of Harold and Josephine (Kubat) Ohrmann. She was a 1958 graduate of Claremont High School and attended Mankato State for teaching. Carolyn married Terrance Chladek on July 8, 1962 at Peace Lutheran Church in Claremont. They were married 32 years until Terry passed away on October 13, 1994. They made their home in Claremont where Carolyn operated WeeCare daycare out of her home for 35 years. She was called Grandma Carchie by all the children. Carolyn was chosen Provider of the Year in 2001. After her retirement, Carolyn moved to the Prairie Villa Apartments in Blooming Prairie then resided at the Brooks in Owatonna until a short stay at Fairview Care Center. Carolyn was a past member of Peace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to read, sew, cross stitch, and crossword puzzles. Carolyn had a great sense of humor, enjoyed singing and dancing and always kept the grandchildren laughing. She is survived by her son, Morgan Chladek of Claremont; her two daughters, Caryn Yankoviak of Owatonna and Lynnette (Brian) Petersen of Blooming Prairie; ten grandchildren, Collin and Ryan Yankoviak, Jaden and Katelynn Petersen, Brooke Ranvek, Tani, Colton, Tori, and Nolan Chladek, and Taran Busby; 8 great grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Ashton, Kalia, Tayen, Kerrigan, Everly, and Maddox; three sisters, Marion (Kevin) Clark of Rochester, Sharon (Jim) Stahnke of West Lakeland, and Kathryn Naylor of Lafayette, IN; many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Terrance, and sister, Josephine Joey Ohrmann. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Weisenberger officiating.
