Catharine 'Kate' M. Peters, 95, of Kenyon, formerly of Sutherland, IA, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born October 3, 1913 in Sutherland, Iowa the daughter of William and Catharina (Feddersen) Peters. Catharine graduated from Sutherland High School. She worked for the West Iowa Telephone Company as an operator and later as office manager, retiring after more than 30 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of Sutherland until moving to the Kenyon Sunset Home a year ago. Catharine was a member of the Federated Women's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary in Sutherland, IA. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, flowers, and gardening. She also enjoyed her many pets. She is survived by her brother, Don Peters of Larrabee, IA and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Peters; sister, Anna McGreevey and special friend, Harry Nelson. Services are pending.
