Obituary

Charles E. Warner, 56, of Nerstrand, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born August 7, 1958 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota the son of Edward and Rose (Swenson) Warner. He was raised in Montrose, South Dakota where he graduated high school. He then attended vocational school for Agri Business. Chuck moved to Northfield, Minnesota in 1982 and worked for Holden Farms for 33 years. In 1988, he purchased his farm and operated a well kept hog operation. He also worked as a custodian for St. Olaf College from 1995 to 2014. Chuck married Lisa O'Hara on June 27, 1992 at Vang Lutheran Church. In their union they had three sons, Charles, Tanner, and Jacob. Chuck enjoyed all sports and rarely missed his boys' football, basketball, or baseball games. He was an avid collector of toy tractors, baseball caps and baseball cards. He enjoyed deer hunting. Chuck was a social butterfly and he was able to carry on a conversation with everyone he met. He is survived by his wife Lisa Warner of Nerstrand; three sons, Charles Chas, Tanner, and Jacob all at home; sisters, Mary (and John) Bungert of Northfield, Gloria (and Eric) Christianson of Cincinnati, OH, Nancy (and Craig) Roblewsky of Washington; brother, Paul (and Laura) Warner of Montrose, SD; parents-in-law, Wendell and Diane Thompson of Kenyon; brother-in-law, Jason (and Lea) O'Hara of Kenyon; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Mock, Andy Christianson, Lucas, Quinlan, Clarissa, and Hazel Warner, Dylan and Madi O'Hara, Marcus and Ashley Peterson, Morgan Rose Mock; extended family and beloved dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and at Vang Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Vang Lutheran Church with The Reverend Paul Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery.
