Charles Richard Frederick, 92, of Owatonna, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea. He was born September 27, 1926 in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Allen and Lenora (Umberhocker) Frederick. As a child, he lived in a number of towns in Minnesota and in also the State of Alaska. He was united in marriage to Janet Staska on May 29, 1949 at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Owatonna. His work career included work at the Owatonna Bakery, Gandy's and Owatonna Tool Company from which he retired on December 31, 1988. Charles enjoyed square dancing with Janet, camping, fishing, wood working, setting puzzles, crafts, playing cards and was an assistant Boy Scout leader for a number of years. He was a life member of the Owatonna American Legion and V.F.W. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Frazier of Albert Lea, and Joan Frederick of Chanhassen; son, Scott Frederick of York Haven, PA; granddaughters, Nicole (Corey) Fuss of Milnor, ND and Karla (Ryan Wentzel) Frederick of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Coralea and Colter Fuss of Milnor, ND; sister, Betty Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Colleen Borchert and Sandra (George) Winzenburg; brothers-in-law, Berlyn (Kathy) Staska, Norman (Joan) Staska and Ronald (Claudette) Staska and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lenora; wife, Janet Frederick; son, Dan Frederick; son-in-law, Orlan Frazier, Jr; grandson, Gregory Frederick; sister, Marion Frederick and brothers-in-law, James Mitchell and Ludwig Borchert. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Saturday, December 29th from 10-11am. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 11:00am at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna.
